Bombings embargos and Nancy in the sunshine...

So every cool thing I have been shooting is embargoed.....
heck even the un cool stuff.
and well seems these 2 jerks.......Alleged jerks.... bombed my city.
and it's sucked for me... with the whole media circus and a lot of my friends work in health care...it's been... not so fun.
any way I've been very busy with work....keeping my mind off of things I guess.

but even with all that I do have one thing to share....
the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center got a brand new Chief Operating officer.
one Nancey Formella.
a Really sweet person with a great sense of humor and a really nice singing voice.
yes I learned all of that in the 15 minuets I had with her.
so I get the call we are shooting her in a busy lobby at 5 pm.
you will only have 15 min's of her time.
and we want 3 set ups.
the lobby shot will hopefully be the cover of the next quarterly Magazine the Institution puts out.
here is a ROUGH idea of what we want for the cover.

rough is right....
that's actually the 2nd one....it's clearer then the first one....

so armed with that knowledge.... I grab trusty Dave some speed lights and  a Photek SoftlighterII
cause it rocks!

Here is our first set up.

Sb900 at 1/4 in the soft lighter camera Left.
Sb900 at1/16 with a Honl grid camera right and behind.

 F 4 @1/60th.....or so..

so the lovely and talented Nancy arrives.
and we swap Dave out for her and Dave goes on Traffic duty.....

the Client wants an above shot with more of the floor showing so we have cleaner  negative space for the type....

and that's why I always bring a step ladder....Cause I'm short.

so we knock this one out and do a quick pack up to head back to her new office for some " working" shots.

and on the way  crossing a bridge between buildings I spot some AWESOME light.
the sun is going down on one side of the bridge and the buildings on the other side are making a really flat light.

so I ask the nice lady to indulge me...please stand in this sunbeam for 20 seconds.
client is convinced I'm nuts....and we are running out of time.
but I toss Dave a reflector and make 5 frames...

here's the winner.

Turns out we didn't need the other shots any way.
the Magazine it was for got cancelled.

so we used the sunshine shot for a web article.

that seems to be happening more and more....Magazines folding...and sunshine shots....
